| no partners | | | I was planning on Lavender Peak, but a fire broke out and I was in the area before I found out. It was smoking out the area I was to be in. I went up La Plata Canyon and hiked the road to Kennebec Pass, and then on to a 12,000' ridge just north of Cumberland Mountain. There was just a bit of smoke in the air, but that was enough to overpowered the alpine smells. Smart choice not to pursue Lavender and be in the smoke. I still want to do Lavender, but I don't know when. Also made an accidental side trip to a mine. |
