| no partners | | | A friend recommended me this hike while in Vegas this past weekend, i took off from the Cathedral Rock trailhead as there is a construction inside the park area. I wasn't able to make it to the summit as the weather took a turn to the thunder and lightning side. I made it about a.5 miles past the saddle/junction then i decided to turn back around as i was hiking on my own. Overall it was a very challenging climbs that combined some very steep areas along with countless switchbacks. I would love to finish the south loop as a two day backpacking trek. To do 16 miles in one day would be a great physical undertaking but definitely doable under the right weather conditions and a very early morning start. I came across a few deer and lots of chipmunks. |
