| no partners | | | Met a friend at Barnhardt trailhead about 11 am, hiked up Y-Bar (shake tree) trail to Y-Bar Basin. The last time I'd been to Y-Bar Basin was May 1998 on a backpacking trip. I was hoping to see some surviving pines following the 2004 Willow Fire, and I did. Maybe about 20 throughout the entire basin survived. It looked as though a nuclear bomb had gone off in there. Y-Bar Basin will probably not look the way it once did in my lifetime. So sad, but it was nice to go there anyway. I think I know where "Ron and John's secret swimming holes" are... |
