| no partners | | Today's hike was a variation of a previous one - we added Caramba Lookout and Sam Fink Peak to the destinations list... As an added bonus, we got to meet a couple of smoke jumpers and witness a helicopter pickup of their equipment. They were cleaning up from a fire a couple of days earlier. How often does one get to see a helicopter from above without being in another aircraft!?
The weather was perfect; temps were mild and we had a nice breeze to keep us cool all day. Sadly, when we arrived at the falls, they were occupied by another group of folks. Kind of put a crimp on our party but no big deal...
Caramba Lookout and Sam Fink Peak afforded some awesome views of the Coachella Valley, Salton Sea and surrounding peaks. The weather was clear so we got a great views of everything! |
