| no partners | | | There is a patch of desert on the east side of the current end of N 56th st across from our condo complex. I've been wanting to explore it ever since we moved here at the end of May hoping it might be a good place to do daily exercise hikes without having to drive anywhere. The hot weather was keeping me from checking it out but finally decided to get up early and explore it in the cool of the early morning. I hiked a 6.4 mile mostly "off trail" loop over flat terrain. There's a lot of motorcycle and car tracks criss-crossing the desert but the desert trees and cactus offer some worthwhile scenery. Unfortunately it is also a dumping ground for people's junk but still not a bad place to get some exercise. |
