After all the talk on this site about the Ogre's Den I decided to check it out. It's an interesting place - would sure like to know the history. A date printed on some of the sand bags indicated it may go back to 1987. I assume someone hauled empty bags up there and filled them with sand/gravel at the site to partially close off some of the cave's openings. Two log books full of names only going back to 2011 indicates this place has alot of visitors. I passed two people on their way in when I hiked out. A geocach sitting on the table is probably one reason for all the visitors. |
