| no partners | | My son and I hiked this trail on a beautiful fall day. The trail is well groomed, easy to follow and virtually no elevation gain. The views of the ocean shoreline were well worth the hike although there are many other hiking opportunites in Montana de Oro State Park which you pass through on the way to the trail head. My interest in this trail was a chance to get a look at the Point Diablo Nuclear Power Plant which can be seen from the trail end. We checked in at the entrance gate and signed the waiver to release PG&E from any liability for anything that might happen - like falling off a seaside cliff, nuclear plant melt down, etc. We enjoyed a leisurely hike but were told by a PG&E employee to get moving to avoid being late for the 3:45 pm closing time. He had forgotten to reset his watch for the end of day-light-savings time on that day and we actually had an extra hour. But it was nice to know they were looking out for our well being. He later realized his mistake and was waiting at the entrance gate to apologize when we left. |
