I've hiked this route several times, but this is the first time with Larry. We started at the Pima Canyon TH to hiked west to Marker 45 on National Trail. This was 13.3 miles form Pima Canyon. Larry continued to the end of National Trail to meet his ride. My ride was meeting me at the Chandler and 19th Ave TH, so I headed South and caught the Gila Trail back to Ahwautkee. Lots of hikers on the trail. I suspect this is bacause this was the one day a month that the road to the West end is open. Great day for a hike and with the cool tempeatures, I only used about 2 liters of water.
