We boulder hopped our way downstream for about a half mile before we started climbing up the first major drainage into Fish Creek on our right (east). After making it to the top of Horse Mesa Flats, we hiked by the first fork into Sierra Canyon which is the traditional route into Sierra described on HAZ. We kept hiking on the same approach as we had done earlier in the year to Tango Canyon but as we approached the north fork of Sierra, we dropped in.
There was very little water in the canyon with some water in the potholes as we made our way down the canyon encountering 4 rappels on our way to Fish Creek. It was a great day to be in the Supes. |
