| partners | | Wally Supes Farak and I had talked about doing this hike someday and the day was here.Met Wally at 5:00AM and were hiking by 6:30.We stayed on the Reavis Ranch trail most of the way then we took the "Wally Route" up.Not as thick as it looked but we did have to squeeze through a crack in the rocks and slither through a tree.Checked out the views and signed the register. Our first time up so Wally decided we could do the ridge and check out the area to the south.Cool little ridge and there are a couple other ways to get up that may be a little easier. On the way back Wally wanted to check out some ruins. We might as well get the most of the drive out here .From up top the route we decided to take looked like a walk in the Park.It was a lot of grass and little rocks but not to bad at first. We stopped on a ridge and ate a little then Wally dialed us in to the ruins. They are pretty overgrown but you can make out a few of the walls .On they back the grass and rocks got worse and wore me out.The tall grass is hard on a Tortoise .Finally got back on the trail and did double time back to the Jeep.We saw a quite a variety of flowers, one Muledeer and seven Whitetail(1buck).Great hike and company. |
