this loop starts and ends at campsite number 13 at the reef townsite campground. lucky for us, that's where we were camping so this made it easy access for us after our carr peak hike. the macomb's trumpet was along this part of the trail, which i was happy to see since it had also lined carr canyon road most of the way up and i wanted to see it up close. sweet way to end the day.
