| no partners | | This is probably now my favorite trail in Arizona and I didn't get to do much of it is the sad part. I took Mt. Lemmon trail only to where the Meadow trail ends and took Meadow trail back to the trailhead.
The trail starts off pretty easy with many flowers near the trail. I'd say the trail difficulty level is pretty easy..it's basically just walking sense theres not much elevation to be gained.
Although the trail has many parts where the forrest is burned down it actually contains a lot of beauty in it. The grasses and flowers get much more light than when the forrest wasn't burnt so they're very green and grow everywhere on the ground. Ferns, wild flowers ect ect. Very nice.
Awesome views out towards Tucson with many smooth looking rock formations, some remind me of pictures of Yosemite National park.
The Meadow trail is great too in a different way, the biggest trees i've ever seen are on this trail. Not sure what kind of trees these are(look like ponderosa, dougles fir, spruce maybe) but this is a great way to see a big cluster of tall ones.
This trail might not be as shocking and awesomely dangerous as some trails around Four Peaks but for shear beauty of trees, mountain views this one is my favorite. |
