A great day for a desert hike. The wildlife viewing was better on the first half because the OHV's didn't show up until after noon. Saw a long thin snake warming itself on the road, which I almost stepped on, as well as a tarantula. Lots of birds and animal tracks in the sand. I even saw some tracks that seemed like a small horse or pony.
I took a few pictures of an old stone cabin that I'll post, and a pond with frogs in it that wasn't marked on maps. The humor for the day came from a pair of off-roading VW Bugs. The first driver stopped and asked me, "Where's Highway 66?" and then after a long pause, during which I made some sort of confused face, he said, "Just kidding buddy!"
