| partners | | I have been looking at doing Buzzards Roost for quite some time from the Peralta TH, talking to Kelly and JJ about it during other hikes. Kelly couldn't make it today, so it was just JJ and I.
We started on the Dutchman trail, then took the Coffee Flat trail stopping by Reeds Water. We went off trail about a half mile past Reeds Water on the way to Dripping Springs. On our way to the Roost we ran into an old mining camp. I'm guessing about 30 years old based on the stuff we found.
The climb to the top of the Roost has some loose steep parts and a little exposure, but nothing overwhelming. Awesome views all along the way up and down. We descended the back side and made a loop back to the Coffee Flat trail seeing some more interesting things along the way.
