Left Auntie's house headed for the nearest Mtn which is about 3mi away.
Followed an ATV track at first until it headed west.
Trekked through the barren desert until reached base of Mtn, turned back. Ears were freezing!!! (Its a brisk 30°)

On my way back found a neat arroyo type wash to walk down into...when I hit the rim of the wash I was pleasantly surprised by a small group of horses and another and another.
