One more hike on our Grand Canyon weekend before heading home. Saturday we did Dripping Springs from Hermit TH but hadn't been down the Hermit trail past the Dripping Springs junction so we decided to explore more of the trail. After making the junction we continued on to Santa Maria Spring. Very cool spring with rest house and full tank of spring water. Great place to relax for a few minutes and get out of the sun if it's hot.

Soon we continued down Hermit trail for another two miles out to a point overlook. This section between Santa Maria Spring and the lookout is really cool as it traverses the red wall. Lots of great views and drops offs in the cliff walls. At the lookout we could see the switch backs below as the trail makes it's way down to the Tonto Trail but this was our turn around point. Have to save that one for another day

Finished up lunch on the overlook spot and made our way back out. Not too many people on the trail...guessing most were already gone for the weekend.
