A stop to do a little exploring at Barfoot Park before continuing on to Rustler. Hadn't been to either place since just after the fire in 2011. The good news is that the fire danced around on the ridges and pretty much left Barfoot Park as it was.

The fire did wipe out the fire shack on Buena Vista Peak (Barfoot Lookout) and really torched the Rustler Park area (not all of it however). So from what I saw, the place to camp is down at Barfoot, which is not far from the Rustler Park and the Crest Trail. Plus there are other trails nearby if you are looking for a hike.

I hiked a short ways up on the ridge that heads to Barfoot Peak for some photos.

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
The Rocky Mountain Iris were waning in the meadow, but were still presenting a very nice display.
