I was on my way to camp at Rustler Park and thought I would stop for a look around Barfoot Park on my way. It had been a number of years since I did that, so figured a visit was in order. Years ago in the early 2000's, I was on a SAHC hike to do Ida Peak and we parked in there somewhere, then picked up the trail down toward the peak. There really was a lot going on there in days gone by, as evidenced by all the picnic tables, foundations, etc. For the sake of the rich diversity of plants and animals in the area, it is good that things are quieter now.
