The first portion of the hike was as expected-- Many people fishing on the lake and a nice smell of outhouse with every gust of wind. Once we hiked off the dam we would only see a couple groups for the rest of the weekend. The first portion of this canyon is so idyllic-- Beautiful reflecting pools, lush green meadow, and healthy forest. We hiked for about a mile until the water started to dry up, at which point we set up camp. I spent the afternoon with my camera while Kristen wandered around with Cholla and then read back at camp. The next day was a quick and easy hike out. Fun, easy, relaxing weekend. |
