| no partners | | This is a great level 4 klettersteig (german for via ferrata), where the climbing is on sheer vertical with iron placements (hand holds, foot supports, ladders, etc.). About 350 meters of vertical on Klettersteig, 550 meters total gain, lots of water crossings, some tyrol line and cable bridges. Check out http://www.allmenalp.ch. As the track shows, I took the gondola back down to meet the wife in time for lunch. Wonderful views. Challenging, mainly because of the wet rock in some places and slick rock in others. I stayed clipped on nearly all of the time, but enjoyed the heck out of it. Check the pics for some interesting ladder work. Not far south of Fruitigen, where we stayed. Nice place to stay when visiting the Interlaken area.
I forgot to mention that my track was pretty messy, because of the cliffs, and I cleaned it up a bit. It starts at the bottom of the klettersteig and ends at the bottom of the gondola parking lot. |
