We continued on till we hit the Verde by the Box Bar Ranch. Along the way we scared up a pack of javelina and cows. I'm puzzled at where the cows came from. The closest ranch is the Box Bar, but the Verde is running too fast for them to cross.
Fan took a nap as I explored along the Verde. We took a loop option back. We took FR407 to a foot trail. The foot trail took us up a canyon to Rock Spring (dry), then it turned into a road that hit FR160.
Most of the day was walking in washes. My favorite part was when FR407 climbed out the wash and we were in a basin surrounded by mountains. I'll return to FR407 to check out Sandstone spring, Summit spring and Cotton wood tank. |
