| no partners | | | First time doing the Cholla Loop; Started from Parking Lot B and there was a small trail to the actual Cholla Loop. Went clockwise around to where it joined with the H-1 Coach Whip Trail and looped back to the parking lot. I was surprised that this hike was longer and more challenging than I anticipated from picking it off a paper map. I really enjoyed the views and the rock formations. I saw several birds and a few lizards. There was a bit of bee activity on the northeast side where there is more tall grass/brush and such but fortunately they didn't bother me and I didn't bother them. I will definitely do this loop again - loved that the mileage was longer than the H2 and H4 trails. |
