Took the H5 trail to the East where it connects with the H3 trail. I decided to start off on the West end of the H5 trail taking it North and looping around to the summit. I attend Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV) which is clearly visible from here but have never hiked this trail before. There are some very large and beautiful houses down below the trail on the West side of the mountain. I made a good push up to the summit only stopping to catch my breath a couple of times. Came down on the East side of the mountain going along 59th Ave on the H1 trail. The weather was gorgeous, even better than yesterday, so there were quite a few other hikers on the trail. Even had a chance to see some beautiful dogs along the way. My legs did start to get very tired for the last mile but that is probably because I have only been hiking for a few weeks and I did a 4 mile loop at Shaw Butte yesterday. |
