| no partners | | My girlfriend and I stayed the weekend in Pine and did a little exploring of some new territory. This was our first visit here. It was a beautiful day out...cool and breezy with some cloud cover. The park was pretty crowded as it was mid-day Saturday, but not so bad that it wasn't enjoyable.
We walked around to all the viewpoints and then took the trail down under the bridge. This place is so cool! This made me realize I REALLY needed some new hiking shoes though. When we got down to the rocks under the bridge we were slipping and sliding all over the place. We saw a couple other people totally wipe out. I managed to make it a couple hundred feet under the bridge before I decided it probably wasn't a good idea for me to go any farther, lol. It was awesome standing under the waterfall and feeling the cool water splash on me.
The hike back up was a little steep but very short. There were still a lot of people going down as we were going back up. We really enjoyed this place, and we'll probably come back next time we're in the area (with some better shoes!). |
