One of my college neighbors and I still stay in contact. He hit me up to do a hike and Browns Peak came to mind.

It was a blast catching up and talking about the good ol' days. Crazy stuff went down back then. Anyway along the way up I was telling him how I had seen an unusually high amount of snakes this year. Just then I see a baby snake that looks like a gopher snake. I go to take a pic and it coils up and starts to shake his undeveloped tail. It was maybe 8 inches total. A baby Rattler!

Then on the way out we saw a couple large snakes on the road. Nothing new but one looked like it had just had a meal. I stopped and got out to take a look and snap a photo or two. All was going well until it coiled up and then hissed and lunged at me. Luckily he hit the camera as I jumped back about 5 feet. :o

After that it returned to it's coiled position, I got the message and left. On the way out we circled back thru Globe and stopped for lunch.

Great Hike and nice to catch up with an old friend.
