Water throughout, and it rained on us, making the granite rock very slick. Had a fun time, but the trip planner misread the map, making the canyon exit interesting. There were actually 9 rappels before the exit. Our early exit made for some rather exposed climbing and a few tricky spots. Thankfully, all made it out safely and the trip leader learned a few lessons in planning. (I also committed not to rely on others for planning. A half an hour on Google Earth and a closer read of the canyon details would have made a big difference). That said, the boys all learned a lot about themselves and what they can accomplish with some hard work and determination. Overall, a great experience. |
