| no partners | | Got a pop up charter to Flagstaff and had lots of time for hiking it was a beautiful afternoon. After getting settled into my hotel room I headed out to get some hiking and SOTA fun. The roads were dry so navigating with the car was no problem. I did find an interesting marker on the way in showing I was on a historic wagon trail. I arrived at the base of the hill around 415 and headed up. I attacked it from the north side made the summit in about 20 min. I hydrated and set up my SOTA gear and began working contacts. The bands were in so so condition. After spending about 90 min on the summit I decided given my car I should be on pavement before I lost daylight so I headed back down. I got back to I-40 as the sun was setting. I headed back to Flag for a nice dinner and some people watching. |
