After the short canyon we took off on the River. But soon we found an obstacle - a rapid! We portaged across the rock beach while Kevin ran the class 2 rapid. Then we took off to catch up with him. Joel got caught in an eddy and we waited for him on the next beach. All great fun since most of us really had no clue how to read the river. We were all learning!
Soon we were floating under the Navajo Bridge! This was one of the attractions for me which caused us to pick this route. Looking up at the two bridges it was interesting to compare and contrast the 1929 and 1995 bridges.
From there we retraced our route from the day before except this time exiting on the other side of the river. We scrambled, climbed, hiked, and crawled our way up Jackass Canyon using the South Fork. Eventually we got to the road and walked it to find the truck we left the night before.
Excellent way to end our trip!
