| no partners | | | This was my 3rd segment of the TRT. As usual, it was very beautiful, with lots of views of Lake Tahoe. There were no bugs, which was much different than my experience from Big Meadow to Echo Lake, which was full of mosquitoes. This segment is pretty dry, with the only available water at Star Lake, and a couple small streams right South of Star Lake (see my GPS route for waypoints of water sources). I hiked it with James. We did a side hike up to Freel Peak, which was really awesome. Quite a few people were hiking Freel Peak, and I met a fellow HAZ member (sgtoddball) at the top. |
