Stumbled upon a single room "lincoln log" house and later an abandoned homestead, which was probably 300' above the Senator Highway just above the Senator Mill. My hike team were thoroughly exhausted upon reaching the Senator Mill so we aborted traversing up the Hassayampa River and exploring the Senator mine. Will do again, as I continue to ground and pound Mt. Tritle.
This excursion was meant to be a GC/Beamer Trail simulator as I had 36lb pack. Used the inflatable kayak and traversed across the Hassayampa. Tyson Bagger (my 65lb Black Mouth Cur) was a little sketch at first being in the raft, was shaking like a leaf for all but 20 feet, then accepted the adventure. Next up, will take him kayaking on Lynx Lake for another practice run for his trip down the LCR in the coming weeks. Boom! |
