Third of four separate hikes on Friday the 13th.

I had actually planned to climb El Capitan Mountain as the third hike today but was unable to follow my planned route
due to 'Posted Private Property' signs. Unless I'm able to find out and get permission from the owners it looks like a LONG approach may be in order.

For the ascent I followed a roundabout arc along some well-beaten cow-paths until I had to swing toward the summit... which is when I had to wade through thick fields of cat's-claw.

Hoping to avoid that mess on the descent I searched out and located a more direct and almost as well-beaten cow-path. It worked great until halfway down when it broke up into many smaller trails as it dove through manzanita and holly, picking up a few bruises along the way.
