Homestead: BRING A HELMET!!! (And wear it, too!)

Day 1: We went to Finland and the small group of us set up for climbing. I decided I wasn't into it, and took a long walk out to Tufa City and talked w/ a couple climbers over there while taking pics of the area. Came back and hung out with the others in the shade while they climbed. Hot in the sun, but pretty chilly in the shade. Layers really help. Had a nice campfire that night, and James gave a neighboring camper a pot in exchange for some nice firewood. End of the night she thanked him for the pot and we all tilted our heads in unison and stared at him awkwardly. Cute moment.

Day 2: Went to Welcome Wall and started to lead Duluth and then decided my head wasn't into it. TR'ed it and had the same experience. Interesting reading my last log about it, that I loved it and it was perfect. Things change daily I suppose! TR'ed Crystal Pistol after and liked it well enough. Then over to Bone Town for Milkbone and Entrance Fee. Entrance Fee is cool because there are a lot of fossils, some almost the size of your fist! Done with the shade, we took the long walk over to Tufa City where our friends were. Asked JB why he wasn't wearing a helmet while belaying Carol (a rock fell on his head last weekend near Bone Town). He said it wasn't necessary... 20 seconds later a rock fell off the route and hit five feet away! He said I jinxed him, but really that's just nature's way of warning, "I told you so!" James wanted to do some climbing back at Finland, so he went the crazy scary way on the Via Ferrata, and I took the land route. Had to dodge bees and a very sweet dog all while on the ledge, too. Action! Adventure! And kisses from canines! James had enough and we skipped climbing and went back to the car for beer and cheese instead. The whole big group of us drove on over to Superior and stopped for Edwardo's... yummy! Perfect weekend to be at the 'Stead!
