| no partners | | My Buddy Marco wanted to do a hike today and had the whole day off. I suggested Quartz Peak, Reavis Falls, Mount Kimball from Finger Rock and this one. He opted for the cool hike with the long drive. As it would turn out I think he made the right choice.
We couldn't have asked for a nicer day out there. Weather was in the mid 60's from start to stop. First we hiked to the Pueblo Canyon Ruins. Luck was on our side and there was water flowing at the waterfall. That plus an abundance of various wild flowers made this one a solid 10!
Then afterwards we headed over to Cold Spring Canyon to check out the two story primo dwelling with the killer balcony. Marco loved both canyons and we both agreed that the better ruin is the Cold Spring one. The better hike is Pueblo Canyon by far. It is like going thru a tropical rain forest out there. Such an awesome place!
I'm kind of glad this isn't any closer. Speaking of that we were surprised to see a couple others out hiking the ruins as well. Unusual for mid week.
Afterwards we ate that the New EL Rey in Globe. Now owned and run but the people who used to run Chalo's Casa Reynoso. |
