| no partners | | Was a really nice day in Sedona. The trail is a good selection of different habitats with junipers and pinons. There are all kinds of different plants along the trail. We only saw about 5 people on the whole trail until we got back to the cars and ran into a few looked like half miler people. My sister Deneen and two of her kids, my husband and I started out at Dennys in Camp Verde and dropped their car in Sedona as we piled into the Jeep and to the trailhead. We started about 1030 and walked up the trail. It had lots of frost in the shadows and the Creeks that had some water were frozen as well as Turkey Tank. The views are awesome along the way and though the last bit is the steepest it is well worth the views on the way up. How many places in Sedona on a Holiday can you not run into hords of people. Had a snack lunch at the top of the Caldera and then back to the car. The wind started blowing and it was a little bit chillier on the way back. Is a nice hike to do if you want to get away from the crowds and a different view of Sedona and the red rocks. |
