| no partners | | Was a really nice day in January for a hike to Skeleton Point. My husband went on to the bottom and back up Bright Angel but I was just taking an easy hike. The trail was full of ice and snow and had some really nice icicles along the way. Crampons were necessary as the trail was quite slick and the snow didn't stop until just before Skeleton point. The angle of the sun was nice to view the fossil trackways in the flat stones below O'Neill Butte. When we started out that morning it read 6 degrees on the thermometer on the car as we started. But was nice on the hike out but the ground had thawed out and there was lots of mud on the trail. This is a nice distance for a day hike with time to talk with the locals. (Mr. Raven) |
