This is really two trips. Part A is about 1.5 miles along a well-cairned, established trail, up and down some saddles and switchbacks(of moderate difficulty) to the top of Four Tanks Canyon and the end of the trail. From there, Part B is about a .7 mile rock and cactus bushwacking scramble 1000' up the west shoulder of peak 2992 to the southeast shoulder of the false summit which can be seen from the end of Part A, and from which the peak can then be accessed, along with gorgeous views of Lake Pleasant and surrounds. This Part B portion is not for the faint of heart.
