| no partners | | first thing I noticed is a lot of the trail descriptions for this hike have you parking at the camp grounds, we parked at the Sandys Canyon trail head parking which is just before the campgrounds. This might shorten the hike a bit, but not by much. As usual, 3 cars when we got there, totally full when we were leaving.
None of us had done this hike before. We wanted something to escape the heat of the valley, but not something to demanding. This was perfect. Its a nice chill hike. We started at about 9am and the sun wasn't a probably at anytime. The trail is easy, scenic, enjoyable. Once we reached fisher point we ventured on into Walnut Canyon. About 1/4 mile in we found a nice cave. I've read some past triplogs, not sure if this is the one people have mentioned before, buts a good size cave, with a very high ceiling. After enjoying the cave, having some snacks, we hiked back to the truck and went into Flagstaff for lunch. Great day.
