| no partners | | Bob, Mike, Heather, Linda, Susan, and Marilyn joined me for a 9.6 mile hike in McDowell Mountain Region Park starting from the Wagner Trailhead. We hiked out and back on Wagner and part of Granite and, in the middle, did a loop consisting of Lariat, Pemberton, and Delsie.
Trail conditions were dry and all of the trails were in good condition.
We got to see the new shade structure near the Granite Tank, which is near the intersection of Pemberton, Delsie, and the connector trail that leads to the Gooseneck Trail in the Preserve. The previous structure had blown down during a storm in late December 2016. This one appears to be considerably stronger.
I saw a hawk while on the Lariat trail and several rabbits later on. We also encountered a number of mountain bikers doing early morning rides. |
