(Not to be confused with Picacho State Park in Arizona--no relation). After you've paddled a kayak or canoe all day it's nice to go for a walk. You can loop around and make it a longer hike (use the area's hiking brochure for info), but we opted out.
I have been to this state park many times, but always by boat! Never have driven in there. I always go on an annual MLK weekend trip with a group organized by Helen Howard of Desert River Outfitters in Bullhead. This year I left my car at Fisher's Landing, and realized the shuttle van and trailer were going back to the put-in at Walter's Camp, and that if I had planned it, I could have left my car at Fisher's, and caught a ride back to Walter's, and done the trip over again, solo. I plan to do that next year. |
