| no partners | | | The forecast said that it was not supposed to rain until 4pm. We started the Flatiron trail at 9am, and by 1130a, the rocks were already getting slick from too much water. Got as far as that treacherous final spot where one has to hoist oneself up one final stupid huge rock and decided against going any further. We weren't so much worried about going up, it was the coming down that we started to fret over and it took us two hours to basically hike all the way back down on our butts. Siphon draw was a water slide. This is a great hike, just I would never try doing it in the rain ever again. However, we were proud of ourselves that we didn't break our necks or even our ankles and it was super gorgeous out there. |
