There are several social trails among the boulders that lead to the pictographs and grinding mortars but you can’t really get lost and it’s fun to try to figure out which way to go. The backdrop to the area was, we felt, just as fascinating and interesting as the pictographs and the numerous mortars. We meandered among the balancing rocks and enormous boulders to find a spot for lunch. Blake saw a healthy deer, but I was too late in getting there to see it. We enjoyed lunch in a sheltered spot and slowly took our time returning to our vehicle. We saw only one other couple along the way. A regular clearance vehicle could make the drive if it weren’t for the 10-feet wide mud hole on the way in. |
