| no partners | | I was supposed to have my sister with me this morning at King Canyon, but I think she begrudges me for the unrelenting pace of the hike up Pontatoc last weekend so I went up to Wasson alone. Since it's not terribly strenuous I decided to lay siege to it and hammered it out pretty quickly with plenty of time to enjoy the flowers on the way down. There was a nice breeze up top and light traffic on the trail, at least on the way up. All of the ridges and hillsides are alive with wildflower color. Looking down from the junction with Sendero Esperanza it looks like there's a sea of poppies down in the canyon. The lupine is blooming, as were the globe mallow and brittlebush. I got a few shots to augment the great pics Nick F. took out there last weekend; I wasn't going to try to compete with his great shots of the poppies so I focused more on the lupine. Tucsonans looking for wildflower action can't go wrong out in Saguaro West this weekend!
