Not much in the way of wildflowers or wildlife but there was some unexpected snow just below Hopkins, much to my t-shirt and shorts-clad chagrin. This is a good trail for testing your lactate threshold, for those that train and benchmark that way. It's steep, but it's wide, well-maintained, and brief making it ideal for running a heavy pack in a scenic spot away from the sun. Lots of water in the creek and some nice wafts of fragrant smoke from some of the houses back in there made for a pleasant journey back out... |
