This was our first hike on the Siphon Draw Trail #53. What a beautiful little hike this is. First of all the trail approaching the Flat Iron was completely loaded with poppies. I uploaded a photograph to show you.

Once you cross from the state park land to the Tonto National Forest the trail turns to ankle twisters for most of the trek up the mountain. This was a Saturday morning and the trail was also VERY busy.

We hiked up to the waterfall, which, according to my map is 2.2 miles. The waterfall was but a trickle but the view back down the mountain was incredible with a perfect breeze to cool you down from the journey up.

The area around the falls is slick rock, which was a first for us to see so much of this. It was a little intimidating at first until we realized that our hiking boots stuck like glue on the rock.

A wonderful hike that I would highly recommend.
