took guadalupe ridge to eagle pass
trail is less distinct after the young man turnoff
i don't do this portion often, so i had a couple route finding pauses
do enjoy the little scrambly parts
saw a great horned owl up close; wonder if it's the same one johnlp saw recently
made my hike - very cool
came down national to the stone house, cutting up to guadalupe ridge from there and returning on san gabriel
also saw a hawk not 20 feet away hovering above me on san gabriel - not quick enough for a pic
fun hike, nice combo if you don't want the pima trailhead experience
only one hiker until starting down national, then mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners
still, not at all crowded
must have been ladies day - big group of gals looking for fat woman's pass and some female mountain bikers
temps were in the mid 90s
nice breeze from the east
fun morning, followed by breakfast at los taquitos 
might try denny's version next time, dropping down into hidden valley and the wash below
