| partners | | On a number occasions I noticed a 'Fort Badger (Historic)' label on various maps for a spot just across Bush Highway from the turn to Phon D Sutton but I've never found information for any kind of fort anywhere near the location.
But no matter, I figured it might be something to check out while doing more off-trail wandering in the area. Although we found absolutely at the labeled location, we enjoyed a lazy wandering hike on a cool afternoon. Along the way we encountered numerous wild horses, three mule deer, assorted small critters, a few filled-in mines and even two separate parts of the same orange 1960's VW bug... the roof in one spot and from the A-pillar forward in a nearby wash. We spent a few minutes circling the area in hopes of finding the rear but no luck.
Not as many miles as we hoped for but it was enjoyable nonetheless. |
