| no partners | | | This was a perfect day to hike to Indian Gardens and then out to Plateau Point. My husband and I took along my nephew and niece for their first time hiking the canyon. Chris and my nephew Damon, decided to do the Kaibab trail to the river and then back up the Bright Angel trail. My niece Amanda and I decided to hike the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens. I took us down at a faster pace in order to see if we would have enough time for us to get out to Plateau Point. I hoped that I could show here the Colorado River from there. It is such a nice view. We were able to get out there with plenty of time to do the longer hike back out. We had a nice little break with snacks and water and then headed out when the "tour busses" arrived.(Mules with the tourists). The whole time Amanda kept saying how she couldn't believe that we were actually IN the Grand Canyon. We made it back to Indian Gardens just in time to see the boys come up from the bottom as they trucked on past us. We then slowly made our way out of the canyon. There was still a little bit of snow along the trail at the top as well as on the trail but was so dirty that there was no trouble sliding on it. All in all it was a nice trip. |
