| no partners | | I'm just guesstimating the total miles that we hiked as the activity was more like "drive till you spot rock art, pull over, walk closer to the panel, take pictures, muse as to the meaning of the writing, return to truck, repeat". I'm certain we missed a lot (including the Santa panel, the crane with splayed wings, the pregnant buffalo, the list goes on and on), but we were very pleased with all that we did see. Drove on a well-graded road (kept nicely for the gas extraction operations up there) to the head of Harmon Canyon to gain views down into Nine Mile and beyond. We'll return. The BLM office in Price offers a handout describing what to find at such-n-such mileage. There are also several guides to be found on the internet.
Saw four bucks, 5 does, 2 golden eagles, and many, many cows. Only three other cars (appeared to be locals) seen on a Sunday. |
