Very birdy - there were many more than I could identify, but I got my lifer Lawrence's Goldfinches and saw White-throated Sparrows for the first time other than one in my yard recently. Spotted Towhees are always fun to see, and there were Cardinals and Pyrrhuloxia's.
I wore my brightest orange shirt (2013 AZ Snowbowl Climb to Conquer Cancer), and didn't get shot at. Pretty sure there were other eyes on me at times, but only ran into one side-by-side with 2 men and a woman - I had met the guys previously while looking for the Ringed Kingfisher ... we talked for a couple minutes and they said they had "glassed up" a lion just past where I turned around, and a few bucks.
Glorious day out there in some fantastic habitat. |
