The crazy weather kept me close to home to start the year, but I still managed to get my year list off to a decent start - 50 different kinds of birds in the first four days, including several lifers already.
Eastern Bluebirds were a highlight, but the random blue-morph Snow Goose I stumbled upon today was a pretty exciting find ... and I finally saw the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at Roper that all the other local birders had already managed to see before me.
